i have an lcd which is not full hd. i am thinking of buying a blu ray player, but one gent on here is having problems with the picture.

a lady said it may be because his tv is not full hd.

is it a waste of money buying a blu ray player, while my tv is not the full hd. or is that gent just unlucky.

What TV do you have? Even if you have just an HD Ready TV (720p) then you will probably notice an improvement with Blu-Rays but a few factors come in such as the screen size, how far away you sit etc. I sit 10 feet from my 42" 720p TV and Blu-Rays feature a big improvement in picture quality over DVDs for me.

Mine is only HD Ready and I'm not looking at replacing it anytime soon. Splendid blu-ray pictures.

I second Prof and ValianTX. Full HD doesn't necessarily mean better picture quality than HD Ready. It all depends on the actual quality and performance of the display.

I third them (sic). I am putting BluRay through a 720p projector on a 10' screen. The picture quality is superb and obviously better than DVD.
