Checking out the spec's on the samsung site the only difference I can see apart from physical size and weight is the 8000 uses the new 8th gen screen with 200mhz motion plus.... and of course its now just 'Black' in colour and not 'Platinum black' ;o)

Anyone compared the 7020 and 8000 side by side yet ???

I've seen the two side by side at a Samsung Product Launch over here in Australia. Blacks look to be about equal from what I can remember, however color tones definitely looked a lot more natural. I don't really care much for 200Hz processing. The only 200Hz panel that has been able to impress me thus far is the latest Z series Sony, what with it being 2nd Gen, you can see clearly just how smooth panning is. Though wouldn't recommend having 200Hz on if watching 24p bluray discs.

I have a older Samsung Plaz and a friend of mine just opted for the PS-50B850 over the 8000LCD as in not only his but in my oppionion as well the PS-50B850 not only offered a better more natural colour rendition but had a far superiour black level over the 8000 LCD, it is also only 1.1 inches thick which is some feat for a 50" plasma and lastly which was important to him being a plasma it has no issues with screen lag which could heavily affect your enjoyment of the TV if you were playing say a 360 or PS3 on it.

So I stand by what I said, if it were my choice I would get the PS-50B850.

Wow ! really only 1.1 inches thick !

Ok you have made me stop and think. Will have to do some research now. I am after a suitable wall mountable screen which wont stick out so far that WAF is negated !
