That's very sad! I remember getting my technics in 96 and what a special day that was!! No matter what happens, you cannot pick up a bit of digital music or cd and see how the tune plays before playing it, unlike vinyl. You can read a piece of vinyl and to me thats a massive thing (especially if you are spinning new tunes or someone elses records). Maybe im just old fashioned, but playing digital music just aint the same!

Technics are dis-continuing production of the SL1200/1210 mk5 models

The flagship SL1210M5G and the 'vanilla' SL1200/1210 mk2 models continue.

[Edit] That is also unsubstantiated. Until Panasonic actually make a press announcement then there is no story.
