I connected my notebook ACER Aspire 5670 with my Denon 1910 trough its SPDIF output with Mini TosLink to TosLink cable. However there is no sound at all comming from my speakers. Soundcard is RealTek HD and on the Master Volume menu the SPDIF volume slider is grayed and volume and balance can not be moved. What should I do to enable it? Or do I need to install some additional drivers or software. I tried both VLC and WMP with the options to transfer the audio trough SPDIF but nothing happened. I would apreciate your insight.

Thanks

If you are using Vista, you normally have to go control panel > sound and enable the Digital Output controller for your sound card. Also check the supported format tab to see if you can specify 44.1 khz and also enable it in the Realtek Sound Card control panel too.
