Newbie - Advice Appreciated

Want to get a new TV - 37"-40" - room will not take a larger size. Until reading the thread on Sony 46W4500 the 40W4500 was top of my list. Would appreciate some suggestions as to alternatives - I do have a preference for LCD over Plasma but not religious about that - open to change - top of my list is picture quality. I am probably going to upgrade to HD but at present source is a Sky+ box. My reference point = current set = Loewe Aconda 32".

Any help suggestions appreciated!

All these are excellent sets. I love the Pioneer model - it's expensive but (I think) worth it coz you really do get a stunning picture with high-def and even standard-def like Freeview. My other favourite is the budget Panasonic 37PX80, which has a brilliant high-def picture even if it aint 1080p. Hope I have been of some help.

If it has to be LCD I guess Sony would be the popular choice but when I was recently looking for a new set Samsungs LED LCD's stood out in comparison. There are good deals around at the moment so shop around whatever you're buying.
