Hi Guys,

My old Panasonic 32inch is showing signs of age, so its time for a new one.

My criteria is quite simple really, size would be around 40" LED, with a budget not exceeding £700.

I'm not interested in 3D my feed is freeview usually from my Humax freeview recorder which gives me HD.

I have BBC iplayer ect with the humax.

I saw this at a good price, Samsung ue42550, would this suit my needs or are there any others that would be better ie Panasonic ect.

Thanks in advance for your help in this as the choice is so huge.....................

But the OP wants a LED TV.

I have seen the samsung at £528 which seems like a good deal, any comments on this set would be welcome....................

Do you mean this?

I can't find any reviews of this tv, and I'm not familiar with this supplier. Crampton & Moore have it for £549, and they're a respected supplier, so it might be better to pay that little extra to get from them.

The tv though, will be something of a punt, as there is a distinct shortage of reviews for this model. My guess is, it will be decent, but you'll probably have minor problems with backlight bleed, and motion. I'm guessing though.

Appliances Direct is same as Direct TVs. They're reliable, & have a shop in Huddersfield. I've bought few laptops from them (Laptops Direct) since 2005. They're good to deal with.
