My current system is rather old and basic, mostly consisting of parts from my original system, or upgrades purchased via EBay. I've been thinking of changing the speakers for years, and have just seen a pair of the original Quad 11L which I always had a hankering for...
Based on the list below - do you think they'd be a good choice? Budget is tight so £150 is maximum, hence buying second hand to maximise quality.
I listen to prog rock, classical, some heavy metal, singer-songwriter, female soloists... but mostly prog rock and classical.
Current System :
Rega P3 with Ortofon 2M Red cartridge
Arcam CD72
Arcam Alpha 6 Plus amp
Mission 751 (original model) on Mission stands
I'm not worried about out and out volume as I live in a small terraced house!
Another option I saw was adding the Cambridge Audio Azur 640P Phono Stage - not sure if that would add anything over the phono stage in the amp, or do I change the amp?
