Hi. I just boutght a LG 32LH4000 this afternoon. I got home and tuned it in, then i tried hooking my ps3 up. First i tried the HDMI 1 and it didn't register at all on the tv and the same with HDMI 2. When i tried it in the 3rd slot it found it but the picture was flickering quite badly and the sound kept clicking on and off.

I checked the troubleshooting section of the TV manual and it said that the HDMI cable should be a HDMI 1.3 or higher. I've had my PS3 for a few years now and bought a cheap HDMI cable when i got it. Ive always used it with my Panasonic TX37LZD70 and its worked fine. Is it possible i just need a higher grade HDMI cable or is it something to do with the TV?#

Thanks for your time.

Been fiddling about with ps3 and managed to set it back to AV and then back to HDMI and it worked for a bit. I think after all that it may actually be my HDMI cable is a bit faulty. Have to go and buy a new one tomorrow to see if im right.

If your new TV is a 1080p model the PS3 will try to output at that resolution (I think, pretty sure the PS3 can do 1080p). If the HDMI cable isn't 1.3 spec then it won't be able to handle the bandwidth required.

Go buy a new cable, you don't need to spend too much, just get one that's 1.3 spec (which is pretty much all of them now...), to test it.

Pretty sure that its not the cable now as its working fine on my Panasonic and doesn't struggle with 1080p output. Taking the tv back now to get the lads at richer sounds to have a look or just replace it.

Cheers for the help.
