The rating is stellar, but the actual review doesn’t sound very convincing, especially at the price.
I don't know where you get the idea that it's not very convincing but it looks like a typical HiFi Choice 'Recommended' review.

I said the rating was very good, but the actual review did not blow me away as the rating suggests.I don't know where you get the idea that it's not very convincing but. It looks like a typical HiFi Choice 'Recommended' review.
It will be interesting to see how it fares in a group test amongst like-priced amplifiers.
I know.I said the rating was very good, but the actual review did not blow me away as the rating suggests.
Something more aligned to the 5 stars it got for sound quality.I know.
What were you expecting from the review?
Of course there is always the option of upgrading the power supply....... for something like £1995This review for the new i9XR runs in a similar vein. I guess sound quality is the hardest factor to rate, especially with so many digital filter settings available, with everyones hearing being different.

You are right...has to be at least 15KgPah! That doesn't weigh enough to be worth £2,300...
Indeed there is.....at about twice the price of "too much". (How good can it be?)Of course there is always the option of upgrading the power supply....... for something like £1995![]()
Precisely my thoughts as a long time Cyrus 8 owner. As a long time Cyrus user in the past and fan of the classic line I feel they perhaps have now fallen slightly behind, mainly on pricing grounds.
