New Centre/Dialogue Speaker

Hi all,

I'm using a Sony STR-DB1080 Amp, LG BD390 Blu-Ray player and Epson 5000 projector (or 42" Panasonic plasma tv).

My speaker setup is a little odd.

I'm using my Rega ELAs as the main front l/r speakers with the rest of the noise handled by a set of Mission FS1 speakers.

Maybe surprisingly, the sound is rather good.

But the center speaker is now vibrating a bit and when I replace it temporarily with one of the rears I am conscious that maybe the FS1 as a centre just doesn't have the greatest sound.

Any ideas on a replacement centre speaker ?

(I'll probably wire the new centre into the amp, rather than via the FS1 subwoofer)

Replacing the entire speaker system is not going to be an option as we only just brought the blu-ray/projector/screen.

Ideally you want something as close in character and tone as your front speakers, so another Rega would be a good place to start.

Absolutely. That's where I was heading. My ELAs are pretty old now, from a time before "Home Cinema" so to rephrase the question somewhat...

Does anyone have any ideas on what might work sonically with the ELAs?

Oh yes forgot to mention - less money is good !

Probably not too much more than £100 - but might find better on ebay
