OK, I need help. I want to buy a new CD, amp and speakers, I have around £900 to spend. My problem is i'm bewildered by the choice. I like a lot of bass and have a 35' x 14' room to drive.

Where do I start ?????

A local dealer who will demonstrate some kit for you. In most cases that will rule out Richer Sounds (sorry guys, you do great kit, but with no proper demo facilities...), but if you have a local Superfi they do good value separates at this price range. Sevenoaks would also be worth a look, as will any local independents.

If you tell us where you are, some other forum members might be able to offer some dealer recommendations.

For amp and CD players, a couple of brands to start off with would be Marantz and Nad.

I would start off by visiting any hifi dealers you can get to and have a nosey about the shop. Let them know you are browsing and see if you can listen to anything they have set up. Have you been impressed or not impressed by any mates setups? That can give you a starter for ten.

Thats a pretty big room which way will the speakers be, longways or across the room.
To help the guys on here what sort of music do you like and would you consider secondhand?
