New Audiolab 8000p amp

I have just set up my new amp and all I can say is it is lovely. I have bi amped it with my 8000a mk2 to which runs a pair of B&W P4 speakers and using an Arcam CD73T as a cd player I can now see that the speaker are the weak spot in my set any thoughts on speakers I will have a budget of around £650 I was thinking of the Monitor Audio Silvers

Are you happy generally with the B&W sound? The P4s were pretty well regarded back when they were current and I'm not sure your budget (if buying new) would be anything other than a slightly sideways step.

Check out fleabay if you like the B&W house sound (there will be tons on there, think 685s or CDM7NTs) - if you are happy to consider something a few years old your budget could well net you a bargain!

But don't rush a decision if you've only just hooked up the new 8000p - have a good long listen with some familiar music and let the amp 'bed in' for a few days, especially if you are using a new run of speaker cable for biamping.
