Need to replace my TEAC mini-system.

Hi I have a TEAC Reference 100 system that is coming to the end of its days. The system comprises of amp/fm receiver with built in CD player and a separate cassette deck.

I want to replace it with a system of similar size and specification. The spec is important as it MUST have a cassette deck as I listen to a lot of audio books.

Can anyone recommend a system to replace it with? I have looked at a couple Sony's offerings, but they look to be a bit cheap and cheerful.

Have you looked at the CMT-CPZ1DAB? Its the best of Sony's current offerings.

Otherwise, why not buy a Denon DM37DAB and pick up one of their matching tape decks 2nd hand? They made matching decks to the earlier versions (DM30 etc.) and I've seen them pretty cheap on a certain auction site.

Hmm, trying to find a system with cassette deck might present a challenge. There's choices at the cheap and cheerful end of the market, but if you want something a bit better than that its not so easy. Seems like you're after an 'All-in One' type of system. The Denon DM37 currently holds the micro 'crown'. Lovely unit with DAB,FM,AM and CD player built in. Also a USB port input, but, alas no cassette deck. I can only think of having to go to ebay or the like to find one.

If you particularly like Teac, there's the CR-H257 micro system and the Reference 380 also available, but, again no cassette deck.

If you go to the Reviews page and select All in One systems it will give you the Tech specs and the reviews on a whole range of systems, the Teacs are in there as well.

I have got a Denon UDR-F07 horizontal loading cassette deck from a mini system sitting under the stairs doing nothing,anybody who wants it is welcome to it.Free to a good home.
