Need new receiver recommended

I have a Panasonic SC-PT870 5.1 home theatre system. The receiver got broken during a shipment and can't be repared due to spare parts no longer get made.
I'm therefore looking for some advice about a new receiver that will give me good use of my speekers.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but your subwoofer is passive (i.e powered by the amp) whereas all the current crop of AV amplifiers expect the subwoofer to be powered.

So unless anyone is aware of anything that provides amplification for a subwoofer channel you will need to factor a new sub into your budget or consider starting from scratch. :doh:

You could use new Pioneer slim lined VSX-S300.

It's the only receiver I know of, who has an active subwoofer output

so you can connect your old Panasonic HT speakers on it if you wish
