I have a large number of music file (apple lossless) into itunes and am happy with the interface.

I also have a large number of movie/tv etc files purchased from the itunes store- all are backed up before anyone says!

Now due to a significant reduction in my listening/watching/storage space, I have a huge number of DVDs, especially Box Sets that I want to copy to my pc and then store them away in the loft.

What is the easiest way for me to store all of the files in, using one interface/program which will allow me to continue to add to the collection say via itunes?

Playback will be initially on my 26" HDTV monitor in the office

Thanks for any suggestions!

Well obviously I wouldn't recommend this due to the illegality of ripping your own DVDs to your computer

However, should you choose to ignore me, you could use a program like Handbrake (there are lots of tools available) to rip to an MP4 format compatible with iTunes and then add them into your library. Tutorial can be found here on just how to do this.
