Need cable advise for MacIntosh Wilson Benesch combo

Mac player, music server, DAC and pre/power amplificaton with Wilson Benesch Curves. Lovely detail and speed but a bit too bright with not enough midrange body. Need to tone it down a bit to get a more mellow sound without losing speed. Chord Company Signature has not worked; Stereovox was better but no quite enough; Transparent has been recommended but have not managed to autition it yet although its boxes may mean I cannot trunk. Got enough bass already. Current cables are Chord rumour installatiion.

Silver plated copper is the WORST for brightness, especially with Wilson Benesch (I always found them bright to begin with). In fact, as a general rule, avoid plated conductors altogether - I have always found them to be sub-standard, regardless of price (Nordost, I'm looking at you!). Try auditioning either pure silver (can be expensive) or pure copper cable instead, this should put you in the right direction. Have a look at decent mains cabling as well, can be a BIG help.

Thanks. Thought of that but I've never heard anyone say Mac gear is bright whereas there are many reports of WB speakers beng just that. So I think the speakers are the culprits but I do like them so need a workaround. Besides its cheapr to change cables than speakers!

Thanks. Can you suggest a cost effective power cable and will I need one for each piece in the chain? So, its a new quest for pure copper cables

I'm not in the habit of recommending specific cable brands, but in terms of mains cables try and go for 1) Pure copper conductors, 2) Good quality shielding and 3) Higher current ratings (20A+). It is worth doing all components, but amps generally benefit most so get them done first.
