Personally, I find this pretty disappointing in relation to expectations of what was hopefully coming from Naim at Bristol, but I'm sure this will be a popular box with some....the Uniti.

Disappointing how? I mean personally I'd have left the CD player out, obviously, but I think this is top grade stuff. Totally unaffordable (¸ Nostradamus), but top grade nonetheless........

Only an analogue output from the iPod? Shame.

Anyway, it looks well-featured, but I reckon it'll cost A LOT.

Nah, the uPnP functionality makes up for it. I'm surprised they even put iPod integration in it. Probably a sop to the marketing department.

Oh yes...

It's not the Naim Uniti - it's the NaimUniti.

Apparently the one-word thing is quite important...

I see what they did there. But then it should be the Naim NaimUniti, shirley?

JohnDuncan:And should you change your News headline to "Naim makes a plea for NaimUniti"?

Nah, let's not.

JohnDuncan:And if we bang on about this enough, will they change their mind about the stupid name?

You never know...

Oh, and given that SC "can see the masses at the Bristol show now and I can certainly imagine the future What HiFi write up...", he'll be pleased to know that a review unit has already been requested, but it'll be a month or few before it's available.

Yup, doesn't even use the Naim logo. Unless that is the new Naim logo.

But then the unit itself seems to have the familiar one on the front - and still in green, not grey.

No that is the new naiminitnimtiti logo. I thought they were an italian lingerie firm, but hey.

£1995.

Ha, I predicted £2000. Looks good though I thought it was going to be just an XS amp/DAC solution.

I wasn't meaning that in a negative senseÿnecessarilyÿAndrew...But I can imagine !

I'm sure it's going to be popular, with certain folks.

As ever, I look forward to the WHF overviews...

I didn't for a second think you were being negative, SC.

If it's any good, I can imagine it being slap-bang in the middle of many buyers' aspirational ball-parks.

That's not a bad price, in my opinion; probably less than the sum of its parts when you think of how much you would pay for the amp/CD player/tuner independantly...I like it!

I agree Andrew!

I'm more than sure it will sound good....

As for the 'personal disappointment' JD, my reference was to something along the lines of a 500 series DAC that many Naim fans are eager for, and for me personally, still no sign of an AV3 appearing.....

This looks a fantastic 'one box', sure to go in my home office, though the feeling of 'underwhelmed' lay in my above reasons along with, in typical Naim fashion, this being late to the market, and arguably over-priced....Naim, as a company, really are reminding me more and more of Leica as time goes on....
