My Sony KDL-NX503 won't turn on - it just flashes the standby light seven times, pauses, flashes seven times... I have googled, obviously, but nothing is jumping out at me. Does anybody have any ideas?

John Duncan said:I got fed up with it only lasting a couple of hours at a go, and balked at paying £70 just for it to be looked at. So I bought the 32" Panasonic something-something from John Lewis.
EDIT - this one
John Duncan said:They charge £167 for a five year guarantee, John Lewis provide one for free.

Yep, up to 28 days afterwards. Just fill the form in and write the order number down and they will refund your credit card.

If you paid on a credit card, then claim off them. Firstly, you need an independent inspection to confirm that it is knackered. You get your inspection fee back and also the market value for a 4 year old TV. It is easy to do and the credit card company will have their own department just to deal with this. It is easy to do. If you haven't got the stomach for it, you must be anorexic!
