I posted my setup a while ago, but since then found my ideal room and speaker positioning, for optimal sound quality. Introduced some nice mood lighting.

System consists of all those in my signature below:

Yeah my Dad painted those Space Odyssey inspired pieces back in the 80s. Sorry for the mess, and the poor cam-phone pics. With the ceiling lights turned off its so warm and relaxing in here.

Love the mood lighting. looks like the v.i.p. area of an expensive club. Very chilled.

Cliff.

Cheers guys for the comments, even better when you are relaxing to music in here, made those liight housings if you are wondering. Simple construction and very effective

You have my vote as the best room set up 🙂. I can imagine the serenity being in there with the moods lighting. Maybe add a massage chair? 🙂

No doubt your room looks very nice indeed. I am not sure if you are getting good sound quality as from what I can see the room is a bit small and will general a lot of reflections from walls and ceilings.

To improve the listening environment you may wish consider placing some bass traps at the corners and a few diffusers at the walls and ceiling. Just search the word "bass traps" and "acoustic diffusers" in google and you will find a lot of information.

Hope this can help.

the room extends a good 8 foot behind the sofa, so its a medium sized room. Yes I will eventually address the sidewalls, but for now it will do. I find the sound quality in here to be very good, curtains help absord alot of the sound energy.

Scott a really great looking room! Our Tv has to be in a corner so I cannot use my speakers either side

Such a great looking set up. The 2001 inspired images just add to what is already a very cool room!

Drool....

That is sweet. I wish I could stop by to spend an evening drinking martinees and listening. I'm big into asthetics (sp?), and you've got one sweet chill room there. Love it!

Looks comfy with the lighting - it's so cheap nowadays to uplight from the floor with small lamps and it looks so damb good, I'm surprised anyone still uses a ceiling light in their lounge!
