Phil Adlo,

There are many options out there. What is your budget?

Do you already have a blu-ray player? Have you factored in the cost of hdmi cables, speaker cables, mains cables/conditioners (if you want these) and speaker stands?

Hey Phil, i bought the Kefs a couple of months back as i came to the same conclusion as you did i've got them with with an Onkyo amp and i it. i couldnt think of a better set up but there are people on here with a ton more knowledge than me so they may come up with something.

Kef's and Onkyo amps do pair very good together, i would consider the bargain price of £699 for the Kef 3005se with K2 sub basically it's the same sub used in the 2005.3 package. If you don't mind the larger egg shape speakers, you will find that they will offer a wider soundstage and crisp clean dialogue, the sub's very good, but it's used instead of the HTB sub to lower costs so it's more appealing to a wider audience. Many members have upgraded their centre, but at this price you would save money and also have the matching rears and fronts.Kef 3005se package with HTB sub would cost you £999 and improves the bass, but takes most of your budget.Add the Onkyo 608 from £400-450 for a cracking system. Also to consider at the moment is the Yamaha RX-V 1065 great amp at £450 from one supplier on the web, but ive not heard this combo, should sound great but will have a different sound than the Onkyo. If you are after smaller sub/sat package the Boston Acoustics are available and the Q Acoustics 2000 more traditional style and alot bigger. I would suggest the Tannoy Arena-lites but i think you may have difficulty getting them, more on par with the Kef 3005se and very musical. Let us know what you think.

I got all my stuff from Richer sounds. Shop around though, you might find some 3005 eggs for a good price, just buy them if you do though, they are worth it, i was just determined to stick to my budget.
