For the last 20 odd years we have been using a large Aiwa CD/Cassette/Record/Radio system costing £500 back then

A big metal unit and two large 3 speakers per unit speakers.

Always sounded OK (we knew no better) but has been giving up the goast steadily for the last 5 years.

Probably just needs a service then it will be OK (don't like to part with it even now, seems such a waste to bin it)

With the help of this forum I chose the bits you can see in my YouTube video.

All the bits arrived Tuesday afternoon, not bad having been ordered Sunday evening!

Think I will add a cassette deck depending on cost as we do have quite a few to play.

My wife is a semi pro singer and has recorded a number of disc's, when we played them back on this new system it was the first time we had heard it sound like that since the studio where they were made

So anyway, a big thanks to all who helped me and those who posted questions similar in the past, I would have been lost without this forum.

jaxwired:Fantastic video. I'm inspired. I'd love to do that for new equipment I buy. Really nice little setup too. Great job!

Oh cheers mate :) most kind of you!

You Tube spoiled it as there is no high quality option now despite me building it in!

They want everything HD it would seem, not only was that a nightmare to make but the file to upload would have been over 1GB!!!

Glad you liked it, as they say a picture paints a 1000 what nots ;-)
