Ok here is a question (may or may not be obvious answer), can I take my Rega hifi to Australia? (i.e. will it work ok on their electrical system). Second is it likely to effect the sound?

I always thought that decks turned the other way in the southern hemisphere?

good one jim ;-) actually you might find a slight difference in the sound due to the electricity supply being much newer and fresher in Aus - this is said half in jest but when i think about it... when you consider how young australia is, especially its infastructure and most houses, maybe this arguement has some merit...(let the flaming commence)

Yeah, dont be pursuaded to leave any HiFi in UK as most things here cost more. The exception may be furniture (not antique).

Welcome to the land of Oz where are you settling.

Im in Perth

The power is the same, but you will need to change the plugs (not a big deal). How are you shipping it? The best way is in the original box. Or ask your removals company for advice.

A quick tip: bring some UK multiplugs with you. Then you can change the single plug on the end and use a number of devices with their existing UK plugs.

I second the view that Hifi is quite a bit more expensive in general in Australia, although I recently got a bargain on a Myryad amp :) For some reason NAD equipment seems to buck that trend and is actually cheaper here. For everything else expect to be unpleasantly surprised.
