Hi all,

I have the opportunity to buy a brand new boxed GS 20 AV for very little more than an RX6 AV.

Only problem is I can't audition the GS. I love the RX6...

Any thoughts?

Mmmmm...... You love the RX6, so I'd say go for that.

The GS20 should and would probably be better, but whether you would like it as much is impossible to say without hearing them first.

From what it looks like, when I was looking the old GS series is pretty much the new RX series.

And if you look at the new gold series, there is a lot of Platinum in them like the ribbon tweeter.

I would say if they are not too too much, but the golds, but I would not really go over 100.00.

But then again I never listened to them as they were way out of my price range when I bought the RX6 series.

But I would hold off as most will be selling them for half price once the New GX hit the open market in full ,as thats what MA does.

RS series went half price when the RX came out and so on

Just looking at the GX range you can see how similar to the platinum series it is!

I see the point about the RX6 being similar to the GS20...

Having looked at the specs though the RX6 is not the same as the GS20. They GS has cones half an inch larger than the RX range, 1 DB difference all round and a wider frequency range???

The RX range is widely believed to be slightly different/better than the older RS range. The GS range is a step up for sure. Forget about what the RX speaker has that is similar to the GS, it's a smaller speaker for starters and as you say the cones are bigger in the GS too. The finish will also be better in the Golds. I would definitely spend the premium.
