basically i have the mission 771 speakers bi wired to my sony home theatre amp. i am just looking to upgrade to hifi dedicated amp and speakers, anyone got any suggestions ? thanks in advance

Second that, plus the 771s weren't Mission at their best given the 75 series that had gone before. What kind of change did you want to make, what sort of sound (as opposed to sounds) do you like? Detailed, forward, good all-rounder, etc., etc.?

the room size is about 12x8. the budget is around 500 for speakers 300 for the amplifier, i want the detail to be as good as possible, the missions i have got are excellent. the detail is very good when iput a track on that has a piano playing, it is just playing on my mind that i could get it even better with the right gear. the gear i will buy will be just used for music and that is it .
detail, detail detail, marantz seem like good amplifiers for just hi fi sound. and someone told me kef speakers are what i need.
