Missing Sky+ sound from Yamaha YSP-1100

My Sky+ box is connected to the YSP via optical cable.

I recently switched off the sound to take a phone call...can't remember if I used the 'mute' button or the volume control.

I then found I couldn't get the sound back.........

I've checked the various settings I can think of....the remote appears to be working OK, as far as I can tell......the different YSP functions are appearing on the visual display.

I can get sound from the DVD player through the YSP without problem.

I changed the optical cable, just in case......no fix. What's the chance of the Sky+ box being faulty?

It feels to me, (gut feel), that a 'setting' has changed somewhere, but I can't think where to look, (that I haven't already looked).

Can anyone suggest some magical combination of keys, (Sky+ remote or YSP remote), I may have inadvertently pressed, that could cause this situation?

BTW TV is Sony KDL40W2000

Have you by any chance turned down or muted the output from the Sky box, so the Sound Projector is no longer getting signal on that output?

Mind you, having just tried to do that on the Sky+HD box here, I'm not sure how you could have done it...

No, I don't know how to do that either, other than 'mute' on the Sky remote.......

My problem is now solved.....although I don't know exactly what the problem was or what caused it.......I had been assuming that I was the guilty party, but now I'm not so sure.....

Having rechecked all my settings and cabling for the last time, I was planning on finding an engineer to come and check out my Sky box optical output, as my gut feel was that the Yamaha was not the culprit.

Before doing that, I thought I'd try powering down the Sky box, to see if a reboot would make any difference.

Bingo......sound is back through the Yamaha.........one of Life's little mysteries, unless someone can explain what might have happened?
