Just out of interest, you understand ;) I still have an old Rega Planar 3, with an RB300 tonearm. Besides the deck, what else would I need? An idea of cost please?

What amp are you using Freddy, has it got an onboard phonostage ?. Speakers ?. How do you like your music to come across , gives us a rough idea on cart choice to hopefully marry well with your set up, to suit 'your' lugholes. . ?.

Hiya :)

At this point in time, I have nothing, apart from my old Rega Planar 3. As I said in my thread, the plan is to build up a new system in a couple of months, when I move. As yet, I'm undecided on what to go for. I guess I would describe the sound I'm looking for as 'weighty', but definitely not dull or muffled sounding. It seems the Nagaoka 200 is a well respected cartridge, so it's one I'm considering. I heard the Tannoy DC6T SE's coupled with the Marantz 6005 cd/amp, and wasn't impressed at all (no weight). I'm therefore considering building my own speakers based on my old Kef Concords, but maybe an updated version? Not much to go on :)
