Before spending a lot of money I have been looking at various LCD and plasma screens recently and have noticed on several models LG and Samsung in particular that where the power LED is located that the heat (from the tv being on all day) has caused the seal of the screen to melt, resulting in a sagging band dipping out below the frame. Is this a design fault? Has anybody else noticed this as about 7 or 8 sets in my local store where all suffering the same defect - even the new 60" LG set costing £2199!

All right then, I'll go along with it...

It's not a design fault, and neither is it caused by heat. It's a design feature.

miss-understanding all around I think...this is not the frame(I know the frames are designed curved downwards) its actually a internal seal (which is sandwich between the glass front and the screen) that has drooped at least 6" below the screen frame - the 60" LG I saw 2 weeks ago has developed this over the last week - so if its part of the design then its a pretty clever feature which improves with age!

hands up...ignorance over experience...on revisiting currys today...I agree it's a DESIGN FEATURE...I'm an idiot...
