Marantz PM6004 Amp - Odd Noise

Hello all

I recently bought this amp from Ebay, so I've only had it a few days or so. It plays just fine and sounds lovely for about 10 minutes or so, then it emits a high-pitch whine/screech (hard to describe a sound). The noise is independent of any controls and only goes away when I switch it off. Switch on, play some music, noise comes back.

I have no idea what this might be, so can any of you fine folk give me a clue please?
