I have no experiance with any of those amps, but based on my experiance of JBL with car audio (thought this was a few years back), i really cant recommend them. The sound was clear but very sharp treble and a bit slow on the bass side. But that said, i heard the JBL Creature 2.1 PC speakers a few weeks back and they and a nice tonal clarity to them and a bargin for the sub-£100 mark IMO.

With the Marantz, i was looking at that myself, but the review of the 6003 was much better than the 5003 (5 star vs 3 star), worth the extra few ££.

I'm no expert either but ive put up quite a few posts over the last few days about various amps in this price bracket. What type of sound are you looking for? For what type of music?

I could be wrong, but I have doubts about the room shaking capabilities of the amp and whether it would drive the speakers properly. I only have limited experience with a few JBLs so can't comment on those.

Just to clarify im dont work for this website (but it is very good).

I found this, it should give you what you want (im going to be getting it myself):

http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/Product_ID/7065

Speakers and powered sub both got 5 star reviews from here. Theyre going for £220 on this site, they RRP for about £400 on their own and they look damn sexy in Walnut!

If you JUST want a big-bad-ass sound and are willing to sacrifise a fair bit of quality have a look at a PA speaker system. I'd advise going for an active speaker and possibly recover some of the cost selling your current amp.

Just had quite a long discussion about PAs on this post: http://www.whathifi.com/forum/hi-fi/amp-suggestions-please

Hope this helps.

they do look nice sam but i dont have a sub output on my amp i only have 4 40 watt channels 2 lefts and 2 rights ? is there anyway i could fit them to my amp ? i no that might sound stupid but i literaly have no idea i bought the current stereo i have from richer sounds and they just told me what i wanted. before that it was just anything i could get cheap as i was only young. and i think most people would agree that audio is a bit of a dark art.

i also noticed the subs frequency responce goes down to 35 hz is that not quite high for a sub my iqs went down to like 21hz

funny thing is when i searched for my amp on this site it came up with a thread that says the 9.1s would be perfect for it

maybe i should change this thread to what speakers for a pm5003 for 200 to 250 eh .

heres a link to the specs of my amp in case anyone knows what they mean lol

Believe me, entry level JBL loudspeakers sound overbright.

I also find their mids dark and congested.

If you are after entry level models, you will be better off with British brands.
