Marantz MCR611 vs Denon soundbar

Hello,

I'm quite a noob as you will be able to see from my question below:

I own a Denon soundbar (DHTS514) which I find to be exceptional in terms of features such as Bluetooth but the sound quality is weak and too "midrangy".

I am looking to upgrade with a pair of Q Acoustics 3020 and possibly a Marantz MCR611.

My question is: do I really need the Marantz? Does the audio unit (Marantz or Denon Soundbar) actually have any effect on the sound?

The features I need are Bluetooth (for Spotify streaming) and TV input both of which my Denon soundbar supports. Would the Marantz offer anything to me sound-wise? Would it make sense if I kept the soundbar and just added the extra speakers?

Many thanks,
Michael

I would recommend finding another £100 somehow (on top the £499 the Marantz currently costs) and try a Quad Vena integrated amp/DAC for £599.

All the connectivity - including built-in Bluetooth - you asked for.

So, what would the Quad Vena offer compared to the Marantz?

In my opinion it would sound better.
