Marantz 2010 line up

Nope, it's a network music player - it can, however, operate as a DAC, which gives options for use with some active speakers. Re amplification - Marantz is hoping plenty of people will pair it with the new PM7004 amplifier.

The smaller, M-CR603 system does, of course, feature ampliication, as well as streaming capabiltiies.

All specs, prices etc here for people coming to this thread/subject fresh.

I got very interested in the NA7004 in that news item yesterday (thinking, initially, that it was a 2CH receiver with built-in DAC) but realised after a re-read it was just a player.

Clare, if using with active speakers as you suggested, does it have it's own means of volume control?

Not apparantly, no - but remember, we haven't had demos of these products. nor seen the things in the flesh, with remotes etc. Lots of things we want to test out with different sources, controllers (eg iPhone vs remote) etc.
