I'm in the position of wanting to upgrade my trusty ageing Mission 782's. I'm looking for ideas/recomendations as i've lost touch with upto date kit. I need th.em to go wit my set up which is, Meridian G07,Meridian 551,Meridian 555,Denon tu260,,cables are Russ Andrews classic powe cords with Wattgates to each component, interconnets are Nordost wind between the Meridians,Van den hul teatrack,(2 runs to each speaker bi-amped). Mains is a dedicated disboard via deoxit treated mk mcb's,each item on it's own 10mm supply cable, dedicated earthing matrix inthe garden, Russ Andrews super purifier.

As you can see i've spent conciderable time and mony on this set up evolving over some time, but now i think the speakers need a change. So any ideas/suggestions you have please forward. Budget up to £2.5k

There's a six-way Group Test of £2000-ish floorstanders in the July issue (on sale 3rd June). If you can keep your powder dry until then, there should be a few pointers there for you.

Unless you like heavy metal, I'd be thinking Sonus Faber, Harbeth or Spendor.

If you liked the sound of the Missions which were great speakers for the money then try PMC FB1i's.Great with most types of music.Does depend on the size of your room though.

I picked up a pair of Dali Helicon 800 mk. 1 speakers for £2.5k from Audiologica...... that's a whopping £1.5k off their list price or £2.5k off the mk.2

Don't think you'll find a better deal. you can read the review on this site..... they are big though. But the sound is incredible!
