I am really loving my Panasonic 37X10 and the blacks are brilliant compared with the LCD I had.

However, during the day the blacks are spoiled a bit from ambient lighting in the room and at night when it gets dark I turn on a standard lamp which is in the corner of the room (not bright) and again, although the blacks are great, there is some 'yellowing' in areas due to the light.

I just wondered what kind of lighting you all use and is it really possible to get really black blacks when there is any kind of light in the room?

I use a low energy 7 watt bulb in a semi transparent shade that sits at the other end of the same wall the TV is on. It is a nice level of light for me and no screen reflection at all.

I find using IKEA dioders (LED lghting strips) to backlight my wall-mounted screen really increases the depth of the colours. Poor mans ambilight :-D
