In the November issue of the AudioVideo (I am not sure whether it is publihed in Poland only) there are quite specialised and comprehensive reviews/comparisons of LG BD390, Panasonic DMP-BD80, Philips BDP7500SL and Sony BDP 360. The tests described have been done in-house (by one of the editors) with all the proper protocols against Pioneer BDP LX71 as a reference blue-ray player, with Denon AVR 3310, and JVC DLA HD1 projector and Samsung PS 50B650 TV and with a full complement of test videos.
All these players are in Poland in the same, popular, price category. Sony is currently heavily discounted and is about 30-40% cheaper.
In great summary (it would be difficult to list all the pros and cons):
LG BD390: top multimedia, top video but weaker in audio (poorer audio decoders) - awarded 5 stars and 80/100 mark
Panasonic DMP-BD80: OK but slight problems with audio - 4 and half stars, 77/100
Philips BDP7500SL: no multimedia, top video, very good audio, great design - Editor's Recommendation, 5 stars, 80/100
Sony BDP 360: lesser functionality than the others but v.good video and audio - Editor's Recommendation for the best inexpensive player, 5 stars, 80/100).
I use LG BD390 and am quite satisfied. It would be interesting to read the review promised by Clare.
