on richer sounds it states that the 690v has LED plus and seems to have better picture quality? is this just said to get customers to be more interested in the produt or does it actually have better picture quality?

the LG 47LA620V is now discounted for one week from £630 to £550 and that was the tv i was going to buy in a few months, but i assume by august the price will drop anyway

only difference i can find is local dimming. is local dimming a much appreciated feature to have when watching films? dont know how well it performs i just know it has deeper blacks and brighter whites supposedly. 620v doesnt have micro dimming :(

I can't comment on the quality of the two tvs as I've not seen them, but I believe local dimming is better than the other methods used for led LCD tvs. See this link

local dimming should help keep a better dark screen when lighter images appear on screen

so mainly just black levels being better? not a big dealbreaker then if i dont get a micro dimming TV? will mainly be used for watching movies on blu-ray
