Howdy. I am just about to buy an LFD LS0 pre amp and PA0 power amp. I'm trying to get info and advice before I buy it though because I'll have to sell my Sugden a21a, I can't afford to keep both at the minute. Does anyone know how the LFD gear will fit in with a marantz cd6004, pro-ject essential II, sugden a21se phono stage and chord interconnects and speaker cable. Speakers are Pro-Ac response d1. I'm struggling through the Sunday morning fog to discover if a phono stage is even required.

I'm happy with what I have but curious to see what else is out there as the only other amp I've had was the Marantz pm6004.

Thanks in advance folks.

LFD is a niche brand (certainly the pre/power combo), so I doubt anybody on the forum has experience with the specific combination you want to use.

I heard the Zero integrateds (Mk iii and iv) on several occasions, always paired with Harbeth speakers. Always very pleasant demos. Great sound (but rather average finish, and no remote).

I also heard Dr. Bew's power amp, combined with an Audiolab MDAC (can't remember the speakers): a very good match again.

But the combination with your pre-pre and the ProAcs? Not a clue.

Be sure to do a (long enough) demo, with your own speakers (at home, if at all possible). And keep in mind the Sugden is no slouch either! Beware of sideway moves (or downgrades)!

Thanks. I've held fire for now. I've read LFD are great with ProAc hence the reason I've been keeping an eye out. I think I'll just wait (again haha) and pick up a few new albums that are out or are coming out soon.
I really miss having a remote for the amp and when i get something else out must have a remote.

The pair sold for £600 on ebay recently. Not that pricey so why not give it a try. You can resell them without a loss later on. It's all discrete Class AB MOSFET circuitry, no digitalia, so it is impervious to trends.

You certainly raise a valid point. I've came close with a few beers in me at the weekend. This one is going for 500. If I was sure of selling on quickly I would certainly consider it more. Just bought our first house so we need other things like lampshades and suitable bushes for the front garden etc.
