My girlfriend recently bought a Philips SJM3151 Ipod dock with a remote control that sends information back and forth so all the ipod menus are visible on the remote screen, works really well.

Anyway it works in the kitchen so was thinking it’s time to some sound in there. Don’t want to spend a huge amount and don’t have a huge amount of room so want to put everything on top of the cupboard. It will be connected to the amp in the living room.

Not sure if an amp and speakers or active speakers are best but if I go down the amp line it would have to be small. A Cyrus would be lovely, small and sounds great, they are often second hand on ebay but still a little expensive.

Does anyone know of any small amps that would fit the bill, they would be driving a set of bookshelf speakers.

(Sorry for the long post, just giving the background ;-) )

I have just sorted out my kitchen speakers.

A couple of JBL wireless active speakers with remote.

connected wirelessly to the zone 2 (line level) out put on the AV amp.

just a thought.

I take it they sound pretty good then? Did you come up with any other options?
