My Kube 2 had been making a "popping" sound for a period of time whenever I turned it on culminating in it blowing a fuse every time I switched it on. Not very impressed as only had it for 2 years, so took it back to Superfi to be told that it would cost over £100 to be repaired as they would just replace the whole circuit board at Kef. I've decided having read of similar problems with Kef subwoofers that I have no confidence in getting it repaired, and will probably buy another brand for peace of mind. Two that are similar prices and have good reviews are BK XLS200 and MJ Accoustics Pro 50 MkII. Any guidance on which? Does the fact the BK is 275 w compared to the MJ at 150 w make a big difference in a medium sized living room? Thanks

If you did want it repaired, I hear Creative Audio in Shrewsbury do the job cheaper than that....but I can't remember how much they do charge.

Fair enough.....

But with so many going faulty, surely KEF would have upgraded the replacement circuitry for improved durability???

Maybe not, though.....

Credit where credit is due...just received my Kube 2 Sub directly from Kef, repaired and returned free of charge.

Works a treat...can't believe how much you can miss some bassline speakers were sounding very tinny on their own!

Wish Kef would have repaired mine cost me £100 at Creative Audio 3 weeks ago. My gripe is Kef know there are Problems with these Amp circuit boards.

Would have had to pay as well through Superfi if KEf hadnt intervened. In fact Superfi were trying to sell me another sub rather than sending it in!

Me too. Is this a one-off, or are Kef doing this now for all similar cases????
