Kef stands & cables

Hi all,

I'm putting together my first system and I've got some second-hand Kef 2005s. I'll be picking the AVR up next week so will need speaker cables. The rear speakers will be on the Kef stands, which look fairly narrow. Does anyone know what thickness of cable I can pass through the stand and can you recommend any particular one?

You can get something like Qed Silver Anniversary (or XT) both 5 stars, through them but not anything much thicker. You've got no chance with something like Chord Carnival Silverscreen.

Thanks for that. Is it worth putting anything different to the front 3 speakers as these do most of the work?

I've got Qed anviversary to my fronts. The L/R which are on stands and different cables to the rear, Cable Talk 3. This is from a previous set up where the rear cables were chased into the wall. I do notice some change in tone on pans from front to back. I did notice a big change when I went from Cable talk 3 to the Qed on the fronts. If I were buying all new I would try and I get the same for each speaker.
