I'm tempted by a pair of Kef IQ5SEs for sale locally for £150. Is this a good price for them? They look in good condition and the finish would match my room well

.

Not sure how well they would partner my Denon Micro but that is a temporary installment and buying some floorstanders would avoid the need to buy some (temporary) speaker stands for the bookshelf speakers I have (on the floor

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Dave

Great speakers but you'll need something with a bit of power to drive them - at least 20W but ideally 40W up. Doesn't sound like a lot but some micro systems are around the 10W mark - do you know the power of the micro system?

It the UD-M50 I think, probably around 25watts but I'm not sure. It would only be relatively temporary...

If the speakers are still available it seems like too good an opportunity to pass. I see they're a What hifi 5* review. What is their tonal characteristic would you say?

Your Denon is 30wpc, so won't have a problem driving the iQ5se's, so go for them! They're a bargain for £150. Even though they're easy to drive, they do get better with your equipment - one of our customers used to use a pair on a Cyrus PreVS2/X Power, which worked very well and they sounded fantastic.

Thanks guys. I'm just waiting to hear if they're still available, so here's hoping...
