I have seen a set of BNIB Kef 3005SEs from an American website that are selling for about 500 pounds and, having read the specs, they seem identical (to my limited knowledge). Is there any reason for them not being suitable for UK use ?

I reckon they would cost about 650 pounds all-in which looks a bargain unless someone knows a UK source for similar money ?

I'm pretty sure the 'SE' models of the KHT speakers aren't available in the US, so i'd check these aren't just standard KHT3005 speakers. If they are US, could be power issues with the active subwoofer?

They do specify that they are the SEs but not too sure aboutwhat that means stateside.

As far as the power problem I thought about using a Clear audio power cable through a travel plug

Vanman, please don't take that as a suggestion !!

I didn't think the SEs were available in the States yet. And you'll need to check whether the subwoofer has switchable voltage, or you'll need a step-down transformer to run it.

Mind you, I wouldn't suggest running a product such of this off a transformer, as it may have unpredictable effects on the sound. And then there's shipping costs, something like 22% tax and duty to be paid, and the problems if anything go wrong, when the speakers may have to go back to KEF USA for service.

I had considered these things and you and Clare have confirmed my doubts. Still its a shame as the price is so good. I've seen some on us ebay aswell and they were the same $1029.

Why are they so expensive here? Oh well, I'll keep looking.

How about the Q AVs ? The problem is I want to mount my tv on a cantilever bracket and there's no way of fixing the sound bar to it, is there ??

Forget all the above as have just bought new Mission M cubes on e bay for 400 quid. Not a bad price and seeing they got the 5th star back this month I thought I'd jump in.

I've always liked the look and they will fit my lounge perfectly (Mrs happy then) so now I need an amp to go with it. Obviously the Onkyo 606 is the front runner but do any of the team or regulars think anything else would be suitable/a better match ?
