Just placed a bid on a Japanese audiophile Nirvana Nevermind 200g vinyl- new sealed. I have heard really good things about Japanese releases...so good purchase or not?

My favourite vinyl release countries are USA , ENGLAND , GERMANY and .....wait fer it....JAPAN !!!

So good luck dude.

These countries did best for getting original masters to make pressings from. Some countries would make em from rubbish on rubbish vinyl. Canada for one !

I'm not saying you won't get a duffer but even my ELP brain salad ( sorry ) from japan is a stonker !!

Heavy vinyl to my lugs does what it says on the tin , gives a more solid , thicker sound with less sparkle but more upper bass n mids. I sometimes actually prefer the dynamics from lighter vinyl . Maybe it's just me ???

If you can get the original, on GEFFEN , ( GEF 24425 ) probably made in germany as mine is , geddit. It's not gonna be beaten by a new 200 grammer from anywhere !! and you might get it for a few quid.....dunno but worth being patient for...it rocks and sounds stunning.

My opinion only o course .
