So with ITV HD being officially on Sky rather than accessing is via the other channel option as we currently have to use does this mean we will be able to use Sky+ to record?

As far as i'm aware,as part of the changes ITV have been making lately, ITV HD will also be simulcasting ITV1 content on DSAT/Cable so it offers a consistent service on all platforms.

And also getting a slot on Freesat's EPG, so it's a proper channel and not a "red button" service.......

does that mean more hd content or just upscaled stuff along with the same hd programmes ??

Same HD content, and upscaled SD content the rest of the time.

Clare Newsome:2nd April is Good Friday - coincidentally the very day I posted up a 'how to' thread on getting ITV HD on Sky+ HD in a less official fashion.

And what a useful thread it was... I've pointed at least a dozen of my mates to it to get them set up with ITV-HD on their Sky boxes!

But obviously great news now that we can get it officially, especially so I can record every Spain match in HD on our journey to winning the World Cup this summer!

I had ITV HD for a while whilst they were testing on my V+ box (or it was probably TV Drive then). I'm glad to see from the picture on my Sony Freeview HD telly that the quality seems to have improved quite a bit since then.
