Is the samsung U8000 LED TV old, because I may be buying it, I don't want to buy one, then one month later another one comes out. My problem with Samsung and Sony is they just have to many TV's. It's like vista, there are to many versions. It should be like Apple, just a few good quality versions. That's why I love Apple :D

To answer your main question: no it's not old, our review will be online this week in advance of appearing in the September issue and there's a thread saying all this here.

As regards your Apple-love, well, each to his own...

I still don't know whether to get this though, I don't know if I should get the Plasma, does 600hz subfield mean 600FPS?

Eh.....?

Like a car or any electronic appliance (especially a computer), the minute you buy it, the value drops considerably.

Buy what you feel is right for YOU. Then enjoy the product and stop second guessing your decision. A TV is not an investment, never was, never will be.

The Samsung 8000 is a fine TV, buy it, enjoy it.

Well yes, that is true, though, I just don't want to buy a TV, then a better cheaper one comes out one week later, anyway, does 600hz subfield mean 600fps?

If you use that reason you will never buy one. There is always something better/cheaper/more appealing around the corner. In fact while everyone is busy buying the latest sets the manufacturers are busy developing the next generation. Afraid you just gotta bite the bullet and tell yourself you made the right decision.

600hz subfield does not mean 600fps
