im thinking of buying a pioneer 500a and don't know what to do about speakers, the tv is already using more than my original budget so i cant spend to much on speakers at the mo. so i was just wondering if there is anything better than the pioneer side speakers

Pioneer KRP-S04
for £100 to £250.

any advice would be grateful.

As TV speakers go, the Pioneer ones aren't bad. But if it were my money I would buy the LX5090 instead of the 500A, forget the Pioneer speakers and spend the money I'd saved on an entry level AV receiver and surround speaker package. If you can't stretch to a full 5.1 surround package, just buy two or three speakers for the front and add surround speakers and a sub later.

Buy an amp with HDMI switching and you'll have most of the convenience of the 500A's media receiver as well. It'll sound vastly better.ÿ

the_lhc:for that specific TV there's speakers that fit on the underside as well, but you won't find anything else that'll actually fit onto the TV as the makers intended.

Hi,

Are you sure there is aÿunder-mountÿspeaker for the KRP-500A? I was told by Pioneer it is not possible as there is a powerÿswitchÿin the way and anÿunder-mountÿspeaker will not sit flush?ÿ

Suave!

No under-mount speakers for the 500A and agree with beaverme about getting 5090 if money is tight, which, incidentally has the option of the speaker underneath.

Ask yourself if you always want to switch your av/receiver on when watching telly. If not, get the speaker/s. They are better than most that come built-in to tellies.
