Hello. Bought a SONY DA2400ES recently to replace my Yamaha and wonder if it is a bit faulty. (1) When i watch Sky HD through the amp with a HDMI lead the picture on the LCD starts to break up after a short while and becomes unwatchable , so i have to watch with HDMI straight from SKY to TV. (2) Also when the TV is on stand by and the SKY box is on stand by, the display on the Amp. starts to flicker LINEAR PCM etc. erratically. Can any one help? Regards Darren.

Seriously, what do you think? It's obviously not supposed to happen. I've had two Sony receivers, the 1200es and my current 3400es and Sky HD connected via hdmi, no problem at all.

Abit harsh for the poor chap's first post! Perhaps could suggest afew things such as changing the HDMI input used on the amp etc. in the first instance.

It doesn't sound like a wrong setting or interference from cables, so contacting the retailer is the next step.

Well said dude, dont know why people like that are on forums, But then again I am sure he was born with a speaker cable up his butt.

I know nothing as well, but everyone that has been giving me advise has been nice, but there is always one, that knows what your problem is, but wont tell you

I apologise if I have offended anyone - I'm not holding back some solution though, I think that the amp sounds faulty - if the same hdmi cable works straight from the tv to the Sky box, it must be the amp. I was trying to make it clear that I think the amp should be sent back.
