IPOD connection to plasma

not sure if this is the right group or not but is it possible to hookup an IPOD to a plasma TV?

Yes, by using this; http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MB129ZA/B?fnode=MTY1NDA0OQ&mco=MjE0NTAzOA . However, when I asked the same in an Apple shop I was asked why and they were keen to redirect me towards Apple TV, which I accept is a better quality option of connecting itunes to the TV.
