iphone not switching to headphones when they are plugged in

Hi all ,

Hope somebody can point me to a setting I can't find , my iphone 4s used to switch to the headphones as soon as they where plugged in , and pause when they where unplugged , as of tonight it dosn't .

I tried two sets of headphones and the music just plays from the speaker , I hear a click when the jack goes home the volume control and pause/play button on the headphone lead still work but no sound .

Been through the menus but can't find anything

Have you tried it with some different headphones James?

If it is the same with more than one pair then it is likely there is a fault with the phone.
