Just finished installing a new Router and am waiting for some adapter plugs to arrive in the post, to allow me to take the signal from my router into the mains electrical circuitry of the house and pop it out again in the lounge along an Ethernet cable. Some choose Wi-fi but I wanted to choose a wired connection for extra stability. It's very easy to hook up.

Anyway, I have now started to explore the options around the internet TV on the Sony HX model.

I am very impressed.

Firstly the quality of picture on a 52" TV is excellent. It actually beats my SD Freeview material from an aerial. The range of options (whilst they are limited to a margin of overall internet access) still provide a huge range of television programmes and films. I subscribe to Love Film and have started sampling their free films content and enjoyed something on BBC i-player last night.

I can finally find a good reason to stop paying a huge amount to Sky each month - personal choice, I know.

So my advice is if you haven't explored the options of internet TV yet, it is definitely viable and worthy of more investment by the manufacturers.... in my view.

one other thing I forgot.

I used a Chord 1.3 HDMI lead and the picture was poor. I changed to a 1.4 mid range audioquest lead (cinnamon) and the picture was brilliant. I didn't run other tests to check whether it was related to something else - poor internet connection for example, but it certainly appeared to me as though the set up required an HDMI lead that was capable of carrying more information. May be wrong though.
