Interconnect question

Probably easier to manufacture, and certainly easier for the machine to solder plugs on the end, because how would you split the ground.

Thanks Major. Really is this the reason ? Always thought that separated ones look neater and are made so for sound quality...

It shouldn't be too difficult to find some manufacturer who claims it's for sound quality reasons, but I doubt it's the truth. DIN cables had everything down one wire, headphones do, and I don't recall anyone claiming the sound quality suffers any. SCART cables and computer video cables also take everything down one outercable. In a studio environment, outboard processors are often patched into the desk with the send and return in the same cable.
